Medical Case Specialist I - AWW (Thursday-Sunday)

QTC is currently hiring multiple Medical Case Specialist 1 (remote once training is completed) to support our Veteran Affairs Operations by assisting veterans coordinate and schedule required medical examinations used in the evaluation process for VA disability benefits. This position will require excellent communication both written and verbal in order to effectively communicate with examinees, and demonstrate exceptional customer service principles and practices to both internal and external customers.

Please note that training will be onsite at our Philadelphia, PA location, and can last from 30 to 60 days. Once training is completed, position will move to the Alternative Work Week (AWW) schedule (Thursday – Sunday) and will become remote. There is a $2 differential for working AWW schedule, which is received at hire. 

Schedule during training (onsite):

Mon – Fri 8:30am – 5:00pm EST

Schedule once training is completed (remote):

Thurs/Fri 9:30am – 8pm EST & Sat/Sun 8:30am – 5pm EST

In this rewarding role, you will:

• Required to make a specific amount of daily outbound calls to schedule appointments for examinees, including follow-up appointments and rescheduled appointments while maintaining customer satisfaction standards.

• Communicate directly with claimants
• Triage daily download of referrals and ensure appropriate worksheets are assigned to corresponding conditions as identified by Veteran’s Administration   
• Determine appropriate examinations, tests and specialists required for each case   
• Meet or exceed contract timeliness guidelines in both the scheduling and case management systems.
• Ensure all examinees and providers receive necessary documentation  
• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Ideally, you will have:

• High School Diploma or GED or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of diploma/GED”
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Experience coordinating appointments for patients.
• Proficiency in utilizing various computer applications (i.e. MS Office), EMRs and other scheduling software. 
• Highly skilled in multi-tasking while managing multiple priorities

Experience

• Less than 1 year(s): Experience in healthcare, medical, or insurance related industries

• Direct healthcare experience in medical case management or quality assurance to include the review of complex multi-focal medical reports for quality, clarity, thoroughness and insightful medical explanation
• Experience with electronic medical scheduling and case management software
