PROCUREMENT MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY:

As a Procurement Manager you will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement and purchasing activities across multiple categories of spend, including evaluating vendors, help with terms of contracts and preparing reports (e.g. on orders and costs.) For this role, you should have good knowledge of market research, along with solid analytical skills to make sure you’re identifying the most profitable offers. Ultimately, you’ll create and maintain good relationships with key suppliers to ensure merchandise is high quality and delivered on time.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Lead and execute procurement strategies developed in partnership with the Director of Procurement
•  Oversee the functionality of e-procurement system to increase club efficiency
• Support the functionality of complementary systems, such as CMMS
• Evaluate/develop process documentation as needed
• Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
• Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
• Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
• Assess, manage and mitigate risks for supply contracts and agreements
•  Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
•  Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
•  Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
•  Help monitor compliance with terms of vendor contracts 
•  Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
•  Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
•  Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
•  Prepare and present to company leadership costs/time saving opportunities and results thereon
•  Manage team of procurement specialists
•  Train Procurement Specialist on the functionality of current systems and processes

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS  

•  3 years of purchasing/procurement experience
•  Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
•  Talent in negotiation and networking
•  Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
•  Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
•  Superior oral and written communication skills, oriented towards detail, thoroughness, and accuracy
•  Solid judgment along with decision making skills
•  Strong leadership capabilities
•  Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and stand up to 8 hours/day; sitting is seldom to occasional. Employees may be exposed to cleaning chemicals or airborne particles and will be required to wear designated PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as directed. Employees are occasionally required to use hands and fingers for handle or feel; occasional reach, push and pulling with arms and hands; occasional climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and occasional reach and twist, including side-to-side movements. The employee may be required to occasionally lift, carry or move up to 25 pounds and may seldom be required to lift, carry or move 26-50 pounds.

During the COVID-19 pandemic: All In-Shape Team Members will be required to assist with greeting members to perform temperature checks and health screens, ensure members practice physical distancing and monitor cleaning of equipment after each use. Detailed instructions will be provided at time of hire.
