We are currently seeking Sr. Wind Noise Test Engineer, NVH with wind noise test and development experience to our staff. Candidates are expected to be experienced in wind noise, with a focus on developing future vehicle performance, diagnosing issues and developing countermeasures. Additional NVH experience in road noise, powertrain NVH and vehicle sub-systems is a plus. They are also expected to be strong self-starters, team collaborators, excellent problem solvers, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The Role:
- Set targets and establish test and analysis methodologies to achieve world class wind noise performance on Lucid vehicles
- Work on multiple smaller projects with other NVH team members as the need for problem solving on the hardware requires
- Collaborate with other engineering teams (e.g., Aero, Studio, Body, Exteriors, Interiors etc.) to review targets and guide design changes to benefit NVH performance
- Create test plans to maximize knowledge with tight timelines and less resources than found at traditional OEMs
- Perform testing to assess and, if necessary, improve NVH performance, both at the vehicle and component level
- Deliver world-class NVH performance while balancing aggressive cost and mass targets
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Excellent communicator, collaborator, team player, and problem solver
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, thrive, and chart your own path in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Must have excellent knowledge of NVH principles with a focus on wind noise and aero acoustics
- Ability to influence design based on engineering principles
- Previous experience taking a vehicle from concept to production
- Experience with wind noise and wind noise adjacent test and evaluation methodologies, e.g., wind tunnel testing, air leakage testing, acoustic transfer function testing, seal design, etc.
- Familiarity with specifying, testing and validating interior trim for NVH performance, both at the component level and the vehicle level
- Proficiency with standard NVH tools such as accelerometers, microphones, modal hammers, etc.
Advantageous:
- Master’s in Engineering with 6-8 years’ experience or PhD in Engineering with 3-5 years’ experience preferred
- Familiarity with LMS Test.Lab or ArtemiS SUITE is a plus
