As a Lab Scientist, you will participate in all procedures in the operational areas of the Immunology and Immunotoxicology (I&I) department. These include support to Safety Assessment (SA) and standalone studies over a wide range of platforms (consisting of flow cytometry, plate based immunoassays, and cell based assays), supporting an enhanced solutions based approach to Client requests.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Organizes and conducts routine and non-routine sample analysis in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOPs, and regulatory agency guidelines.
Documents work and maintains study documentation and laboratory records.
Sets up, operates and performs routine and non-routine maintenance on general equipment.
Provides input and participates in project meetings, plans, monitors and guides project work.
Performs QC review of data.
Develops working knowledge to assist in performing validations of various Immunotoxicology assays.
Displays understanding of theory and ability to set up and perform practical requirements for routine and non-routine assays and for the instruments used
Ensures that chemicals and reagents in use, are correctly labelled and associated documentation is available.
Reports any difficulties, unexpected findings and/or deviations that may affect the integrity of the data to Study Director/Manager, Principal Investigator/Contributing Scientist and/or management of and participates in corrective action of problems
Assist with the monitoring of quality control trends and troubleshoot alongside the SME and implements any actions.
Support training and assists less experience staff, prioritize daily workloads on a daily basis contributing to a team environment and culture of care.
Develops knowledge to assist in writing text for methods or protocols.
Participates in process improvement initiatives.
Participates in client visits/audits as required.
