General Summary:- The Field Engineer II delivers turn-key solutions based on multiple vendor technologies and programs and implements advanced services which include data migrations using the vendor toolset, disaster recovery, high-availability and synchronous mirroring.
- This role will focus on, though not limited to, NetApp technologies. Opportunities with engagements supporting technologies encompassing hyperconvergence, virtualization and cloud aligned deployments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:- Excellent technical skills, with the ability to effectively communicate, work independently or take work direction as part of a team.
- Provide installation and consulting services.
- Performs analysis, design and integration with associated computer system technologies (networking, virtualization etc.)
- Effective interaction with customers to ensure quality results are delivered based on their program requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:- Demonstrated skills in analyzing and resolving computer system issues.
- Knowledge of operating systems of specific vendors such as NetApp Data OnTap and of general data center operating systems such as Windows Server and Linux / UNIX.
- FAS, A-Series (AFF), E & EF Series, StorageGRID
- 7-Mode Transition Tool
- Switched to switchless conversion
- Preferred:
- Cloud Volumes OnTap
- Metro Cluster deployment and advance configuration,
- Ability to work remote.
- Up to 70% travel expected
Experience:- Must have a full technical understanding of NetApp, StorageGRID, & On-Tap
- NetApp: 4 years (Required) e.g., NAS/SAN, CIFS/NFS
- OnTap: 2 years (Required) e.g., Installation/Configuration; ONTAP upgrades/downgrades
- StorageGRID: 1 years (Preferred)
- Experience with these technology areas must be recent (within last 2 years)
- (Preferred) Background with virtualization and hypervisors, virtual data center and network virtualization
Education & Certifications:Certifications include (2) vendor specific certs: - Recommended certifications include:
- NetApp Certified Data Administrator, Data ONTAP
- NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer - SAN Specialist, ONTAP
- NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer - Data Protection Specialist, ONTAP
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing & Switching
- CompTIA Cloud Essentials
And two(2)
of the following industry certs:- Cisco Certified and two of the following industry certs:
- Network Associate (CCNA) Routing & Switching, CompTIA Cloud Essentials and/or Cloud Certified Professional,
- CCNA Data Center,
- Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Certified Storage Professional,
- Linux+,
- VMWare,
- Cohesity,
- Pure.
