As a Prototype Battery Build Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians and operators who are responsible for prototyping and low volume manufacturing of state-of-the-art batteries. The ideal candidate has background in manufacturing of batteries in an R&D environment, is an effective leader with a proven track record, and has the passion to innovate and drive change.
Lead and develop a team who build prototype batteries and develop associated processes.
Work alongside engineering teams to carefully plan builds and problem solve obstacles they arise.
Provide mentorship and coaching to the build team on a regular basis.
Set individual and team level goals to enhance overall team engagement.
Drive a quality mindset across activities in the lab.
Delegate projects and activities in an effective manner.
Reallocate resources and reprioritize activities as the needs arise.
Create, maintain, and enforce safety standards in the lab.
Support hiring and training of support staff for the needs of the lab.
Impeccable communication skills both written and verbal.
Demonstrated resilience during times of adversity.
Proven leadership and mentoring skills balanced with humility.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced work environment.
Excellent relationship-building skills.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
Hands-on practical experience with shop tools and prototyping.
5+ years of experience with a bachelor’s or equivalent work experience in an R&D environment.
